Families have shared…

  • "There has been so much to marvel at for me, as a parent: how quickly he dropped his guard and let you in; the dramatic difference in his mood compared to a regular school day; and how much more he wants to show us and tell us when he gets home."

    Parent

  • "I find myself thinking - "wow, she really sees my child; she really knows him." It is no wonder he has such a strong sense of belonging and deep affection for the little world you've helped them build together over the weeks."

Our Program

Our day is filled with creation, learning + pure joy

Soft Start
Kiddos arrive anytime after 9 a.m.
Free play gives kids time to settle in and feel grounded before we come together.

Community Circle
We gather for a shared experience - whether it’s a story, an experiment, something playful... We value time together and listening to one another.

Eating Together
We learn to set the table, sit together, and enjoy food over conversation.

Creative Learning
Kids bring their ideas to life using a variety of materials - whether drawing, painting, construction and more. We have fun wondering about the world and seeking answers.

Flow of the Day

So it’s “just” play?!

Yes, and some of the greatest leaders
in education worldwide are huge supporters of play. We are too.

Did you know there’s a continuum of play?
Free play, guided play…

FAQs

“Are kids in the program home schooled?

No, actually all of the kids currently participating in our program attend their neighbourhood schools. Their families have chosen for them to visit LYKKE Kids one day a week so they can have time in a calm, small group setting that nurtures their interests, needs, and curiosity!

Can kids “miss” a day of school each week?

Families have shared so many positives of their kiddos participating in Creative, Curious + Kind one day per week. Kiddos count down the days until their “LYKKE day!” Parents love that their kiddos come home feeling excited, filled with stories, and feeling good.

Can we join part way through the year?

Yes, of course! If we have openings, we’re happy to offer these spots on a pro-rated basis.

Is there before or after care?

Because we find that kiddos are typically tired and ready for home by 3 p.m., we don’t feel good about extending their day any further.
